Larry S. Buss, Director of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in commercial agriculture.
Mr. Buss is a farmer, engineer, and director of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board, where he has spent more than 15 years advocating for the agricultural industry and Iowa corn producers. Raised on a farm, Mr. Buss found his passion for agriculture early, but attended college at his parents’ urging. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Iowa State University and completed a Master’s degree at the University of Nebraska in 1968. Mr. Buss has enjoyed nearly 50 years of success as an engineer and served in the United States Army Reserves as well as the US Army Corps of Engineers while running a multigenerational family farm with his wife, sons, and grandchild.
As director of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board, Mr. Buss supports the organization’s mission to educate the public and manufacturers on corn and its uses and underwrite research that helps ensure a strong market for corn products. He has held a variety of leadership positions within the organization and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Export and Grain Trade Committee and a project leader for the Iowa Pest Resistance Management Program of Harrison County, among other work. Mr. Buss is active in the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Logan Kiwanis, and was named an Iowa Master Farmer in 2019. He is professionally affiliated with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, the Iowa and Nebraska Soybean Associations, and the Iowa Corn Growers Association.
