Specializing in exposure and response prevention therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy for patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, Dr. Stead is proud to provide her local community with counseling services and education. With a lifelong desire to help others overcome personal challenges, she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Whitworth University in 2010. Dr. Stead pursued postgraduate coursework at Walden University, where she completed a master’s degree in mental health counseling in 2013 and a PhD in counselor education and supervision in 2019. Over the course of her career, she has served as a community support staff member with SL Start: Enriching People’s Lives, a psychosocial rehabilitation mental health specialist and a therapist at the Abundant Wellness Center, an adult recovery service member, a licensed mental health counselor and a clinical supervisor at Frontier Behavioral Health and a clinical director for Psychiatric Solutions. Further dedicated to her local community, she is a volunteer counselor for the Odyssey Youth Movement and Cup of Cool Water.
Dr. Stead founded Skybridge Counseling & Psychiatry in 2017 as a way to help with professional growth and development by providing high-quality mentorship and supervision for counselors. She is dedicated to seeking innovative ways to stay engaged, explore new research and information, and assist counselors in the ways they interact with clients, and has presented on professional supervision for the American Mental Health Counselor Association. Operating as a “counselor first” model agency, she believes in providing her staff with support and structure in order to give each patient the best possible care. For her contributions in the field, she is honored to have been presented with the Patriotic Employer Award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 2019.
