Michael E. Zielinski, B.S., CPA, U.S. Treasury IRS Revenue Agent at United States Treasury, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accountancy.
Mr. Zielinski is an accountant and auditor specializing in general and domestic programs research with more than 35 years of service to the United States Internal Revenue Service. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. Mr. Zielinski began his career in financial services in 1985 as an operating accountant for the Securities and Exchange Commission, a position he held until joining the IRS the following year.
Since 1986, Mr. Zielinski has been a revenue agent for the IRS, where his work primarily focuses on conducting tax audits. Working with technical experts from a broad range of specialties to analyze records and filings and make determinations on accounts in question, he describes his work as a series of “making the right judgment calls.” Mr. Zielinski takes pride in his extended service to the IRS and credits his success to approaching his work one day at a time.
Outside of his work, Mr. Zielinski is active in community advocacy, is a longtime Jaycees member, and a dedicated blood donor who has given more than 15 gallons total. An avid runner, Mr. Zielinski has completed marathons in every U.S. state and enjoys working out with the Arlington Trotters Running Club.
