Saphrona McLennon, the chief executive officer at Zoefia Alexandria Foundation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fight against cancer.
Ms. McLennon established the Zoefia Alexandria Foundation in 2019 to honor the memory of her young daughter, Zoefia by supporting children living with cancer through housing and educational assistance. The foundation offers a range of products including signature branded nail polish, t-shirts, postcards, mouse pads, pins and Zoefia’s book, “Miracles Can Happen.” Additionally, the organization hosts numerous events for children and families affected by pediatric cancer, such as the Day of Adventure, the Super Sibling Adventure Program, the Caregivers Love Program, the Children’s Portraits Program and the Zoefia Alexandria Scholarship Program.
Outside of the Zoefia Alexandria Foundation, Ms. McLennon is the founder of The Story of Pink, an e-boutique offering a variety of curated pieces made from shades of pink fabrics, including cashmere, wool, silk, and organic, sustainable materials. A total of 17% of net profits from The Story of Pink sales directly support the work of the Zoefia Alexandria Foundation. Ms. McLennon is also a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Long Island.
Prior to her work in nonprofit advocacy, Ms. McLennon worked as an insurance agent for 15 years. She also served as a police officer in the corporate investigations division for the New York Police Department, having studied criminal justice at St. John’s University between 1996 and 2004. She credits her success to inspiration from her daughter, who beat her juvenile pineoblastoma prognosis by more than six years.
