Andrea Cochrane Tracey, Manager at Carlyle House Historic Park, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in museum management.
Since 2019, Ms. Tracey has been the manager of the Carlyle House Historic Park, a restored eighteenth-century manor house and museum in Alexandria, Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in interior design and historic preservation from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and completed a Master’s degree in museum management with a focus in historic house museums at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. At the Carlyle House Historic Park, Ms. Tracey is responsible for overseeing daily operations and maintenance as well as helping to drive community engagement, marketing, and fundraising efforts for the site’s continued preservation.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Tracey was the director of the Saco Museum and a regional site manager for Historic New England. Prior to joining the staff of the Carlyle House Historic Park, Ms. Tracey was director of the College Park Aviation Museum, where she led the creation of a series of community programs, exhibits, and events to celebrate the 2018 Centennial of Airmails. Ms. Tracey credits her success to her emotional intelligence and to the example of her early professional mentors, and hopes to help create a culture of authentic engagement with historical issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion at cultural sites in the future. When not working, Ms. Tracey volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and serves as the development director for her local food pantry. She is a member of the American Alliance of Museums and the American Association for State and Local History.
