Stephen B. Glick, President of GFS Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in insurance.
Since 1998, Mr. Glick has been the president of GFS, Inc., doing business as Chamber Insurance Trust, an insurance distributor and provider of healthcare benefits to companies of all sizes. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Long Island University and completed additional coursework in social research and medicine at The New School before beginning his career in finance as a Wall Street trader. He transitioned to the insurance industry as a general agent for John Hancock Insurance and opened three offices throughout the New England region for Union Central Life Insurance. He started his first company, a fringe benefit firm called Coordinated Financial Resources, in 1984, and continues to work to provide businesses and employees with affordable healthcare solutions by establishing insurance captive models as an alternative to traditional insurance providers.
Throughout his career, Mr. Glick has been an advocate for affordable and accessible healthcare, and was a pioneer in creating policy supporting Health Savings Accounts and integrated benefit solutions. He has been profiled in local media outlets and was invited to address former President George W. Bush on a panel about Health Savings Account legislation in the state of Connecticut in 2006. In recognition of his work with area businesses and policymakers, Mr. Glick has been presented with several awards from his local Chambers of Commerce and was named Small Businessman of the Year by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. Outside his work in insurance, Mr. Glick is the president and chair of the Jewish Federation Foundation and sits on the boards of the People’s Bank of Connecticut and the Arts and Ideas Festival.
