Nichelle Mitchem Adamson, executive director of Lutheran Towers, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in human resources.
Ms. Adamson has dedicated her career to organizational capacity building for non-profit organizations and poverty-alleviation programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Marquette University and was awarded her Juris Doctor by the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1988. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin and is a certified Eden Alternative Associate. Over the course of her career, she has been a senior business consultant to DE Biosciences, Inc. and the executive director of United Community Ministries, Inc. of Alexandria. In her current role, she oversees finances, outreach and marketing, and operations for Lutheran Towers, an organization offering low-income residents affordable housing and comprehensive supportive services, including recreational programs.
Ms. Adamson considers the fundraising and financial accountability work she has done for Lutheran Towers to be the highlight of her career, and she has led the organization through a period of major economic growth. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Georgia and Pennsylvania Coalitions Against Domestic Violence, the Kiwanis Club Foundation, the Commonwealth Institute, Innovative Solutions for Disadvantage and Disability Inc., and Innovative Solutions to Disability and Disadvantage. Ms. Adamson contributed to “Legal Needs Assessment for the Aged” in BIFOCAL from the American Bar Association’s Commission on Law and Aging, as well as “Elderly Legal Needs Assessment,” which appeared in Aging, a peer-reviewed journal published by Administration on Aging within the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Looking toward the future, her main goal is to further build upon Lutheran Towers’ holistic programs and services for vulnerable elderly persons.
