With a background in the construction industry, Mr. Sonoda grew up assisting his father with plumbing work in his two plumbing companies. Through completing repair work for property managers, he was introduced to the limitless potential of real estate management. As a result, he began taking night classes in real estate while working full-time as a plumber. During this time, he began a clothing company, which helped instill a business mindset in him.
Upon obtaining a real estate license, Mr. Sonoda became certified as an Accredited Buyers Representative and a Military Relocation Professional by the National Association of Realtors and a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist by the Institute of Luxury Home Marketing Specialists. Additionally, he has obtained the RB-22818 Certification from the Honolulu Board of Realtors. Beginning his professional career as a realtor in 2006, he quickly developed a passion for helping others through the process of buying and selling homes. In his current role with Keller Williams Honolulu, his expertise lies in residential properties, as well as the luxury market and real estate rehabilitation, which includes repairing and flipping houses. Above all, he cares for his clients and is happy to treat them all as if they were his own family.
Though his career has been suffused with highlights, Mr. Sonoda is gratified to have attended a soiree at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which honored the top-performing realtors of the company. Though he had not made the list, his attendance motivated him to achieve more, and he was proud to have reached the required goal the following year. For his accomplishments in the field, he is honored to have been regarded as one of the Top 100 Realtors for Keller Williams Honolulu since 2018 and a nominee for the Aloha ‘Aina REALTOR’ Award on multiple occasions for his excellence in the real estate profession and for providing exceptional service to his clients and colleagues. Looking toward the future, his goal is to continue helping as many clients as possible. Furthermore, he aims to further his progress on several patents, including a modified wheelchair to help individuals with disabilities use the restroom without assistance.
