Barbara Ann Campbell, retired editor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in publishing and doll art.

Ms. Campbell is an award-winning doll artist and former periodicals editor with more than 30 years of experience in her field. Her interest in visual art began as a child, after taking a ceramics class with her mother. The class covered a broad range of techniques including slip casting and finishing, and her diverse experience with the medium translated into a unique base of professional knowledge.

Ms. Campbell studied briefly at San Diego State College before beginning her career as a customer service representative for Harrison-Bell, Inc. in 1979. In 1981, she rose to become an area representative, a position she held for the next three years. She left Harrison-Bell, Inc. in 1984 to join Daisy Publications as an editor, and in 1986, she became an editor for Scott Publications, where she remained until her retirement in 2000. Ms. Campbell helped launch and run several art doll magazines, including Doll Crafter and Contemporary Doll, which she considers to be the highlight of her career.

After leaving the publishing industry, Ms. Campbell continued to be a regular contributor to Art Doll Quarterly. She is known for her work in fine art ceramics as well as for her porcelain dolls and soft dolls. Ms. Campbell is a lifetime member of the National Institute of American Doll Artists, and her work was honored with the organization’s Pat Stahl Award in 2009 and a Presidential Citation in 2015.
