Robert LaCasse, managing director at Tradewinds, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in hospitality and resort management.
Mr. LaCasse is a hospitality and hotel industry veteran with more than three decades of experience managing high-end resort properties and logistics. Since 2016, he has been the managing director of the Islamorada Resorts Cheeca Lodge and Resort, and in 2020, he was also named managing director of Tradewinds Island Resorts, a 37-acre luxury campus with hotel, condo, and timeshare accommodations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hesser College, and began his career in 1989 with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
By 2001, Mr. LaCasse had risen to become director of food and beverage for Starwood, and he would remain with the company until 2004 as a general manager. He spent the next two years as an area manager for Marriott Hotels before being named area managing director at HEI Hotel & Resorts in 2006. Between 2010 and 2013, Mr. LaCasse was the regional director of operations for Interstate Hotels and Resorts, and he went on to work as managing director of the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa until joining Islamorada Resorts in 2016.
Throughout his career, Mr. LaCasse has developed a reputation as a crisis management and brand turnaround expert, including managing acquisitions and underwriting operations. In 2019, he was presented with the American Business Awards’ Hospitality Industry Gold Service Award, the field’s highest honor, and he has been recognized for his leadership in the Islamorada properties’ tropical storm recovery efforts. A member of the Hotel Association of America and the American Academy of Chefs, Mr. LaCasse looks forward to developing long-term renovation and expansion plans for the properties he manages, and to one day opening a resort property of his own.
