Since 2007, Ms. Du Boise has provided superior service as president and senior conservator with PhotoArts Imaging Professionals, a photographic and electronic time-based media art conservation and specialty laboratory located south of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The firm is dedicated to the restoration of all forms of photographic materials including films and digital assets. Its services are offered to private collectors as well as museums, libraries and archives.
Ms. Du Boise has excelled in the art and photography fields for more than four decades. She holds bachelor’s degrees in drawing and art history as well as master’s degrees in historic and modern photographic processes and printmaking from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa and in art education from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, and continues with independent study of acetate and nitrate-based films’ deterioration and preservation.
Parlaying her love of photography and conservation into a lifelong career, Ms. Du Boise has prospered as an art instructor and graphic artist and in addition to her responsibilities with PhotoArts Imaging. She currently teaches professional development courses on MuseumStudy.com for the care and identification of photographs, film and A-V media, employing the proper storage materials and assessing preservation environments of these diverse media.
