Reverend Roy Jannings Flynn, retired clergy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in spiritual services.
Rev. Flynn is retired after 51 years as a pastor for American Baptist congregations throughout Missouri, South Carolina, and Virginia. Before entering the ministry, he attended Carson-Newman University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. He completed his education at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, earning a Master’s degree in theology, and dedicated the majority of his career to faith-based service and pastoral work.
Before his retirement, Rev. Flynn was active in community ministry and spiritual counseling, and was a regular contributor to Baptist newsletters and Sunday School commentaries. He credits his longevity as a pastor to his patience and endurance, as well as the support of his congregation and his wife. Rev. Flynn considers the ability to serve others and follow his calling to be the greatest accomplishment of his career. In his retirement, Rev. Flynn remains a member of the University Heights Baptist Church of Springfield, Missouri, and enjoys travel, photography, and spending time in nature.
