Ashantia J. Ginn, Executive Director and founder of New Mercy Outreach Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in human services.

Ms. Ginn is an educator and social worker currently serving as executive director of New Mercy Outreach, Inc., a foster care agency specializing in traditional and therapeutic foster placements for children and caregivers in Ohio. Since 2019, she has guided potential foster parents through the training and licensure process and provided additional life and career skills development support to children placed through the agency. In addition to working directly with clients and families, Ms. Ginn is responsible for the agency’s administrative growth, staffing and credentialing, and helps maintain partnerships with community healthcare and municipal government agencies. 

Before joining New Mercy Outreach, Inc., Ms. Ginn spent five years with Advantage Family Outreach & Foster Care as a placement coordinator and caseworker supervisor. She began her career in 2002 as a children’s case manager with The Center for Individual & Family Services, and was an income maintenance worker for Richland County Job & Family Services from 2005 until 2007. She was a social worker for the Salvation Army between 2008 and 2014, and was presented with an Everyday Hero Award for her work with the organization. In addition to her direct work with clients, Ms. Ginn was adjunct faculty at North Central State College between 2011 and 2016. 

Ms. Ginn holds a Bachelor of Science in social work from Ashland University, where she participated in Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Ashland Juvenile Detention Center practicum courses before being accepted to an undergraduate internship through the Richland County Juvenile Justice Center. In 2008, she completed her Master of Social Work at The Ohio State University. Ms. Ginn’s interest in social work and foster services was inspired by her parents, who fostered a number of children when she was growing up. She hopes to expand New Mercy Outreach, Inc. to offer a wider range of services including assessment and assistance in the coming years. In her personal time, Ms. Ginn is active in community charitable efforts as a member of Women by Design, the Salvation Army’s Christmas program, and her local church.
