Title: Rural Carrier
Company: United States Postal Service
Location: Odessa, Texas, United States
Timothy Martin Hewitt, Rural Carrier at the United States Postal Service, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in museum curation and mail delivery.
Mr. Hewitt obtained a Bachelor of Arts in history and anthropology from Pacific Lutheran University, Parkland, Washington, in 1986. In his youth, he harbored interests in both music and the outdoors, taking lessons in piano and violin and later adding French horn, organ, handbells, and guitar. As a youth counselor with the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa, he directed the handbell choir and brass ensemble and currently serves as director of church properties and as a part-time organist.
From 1992 to 2005, Mr. Hewitt excelled as curator of the Presidential Museum, now the Presidential Archives and Leadership Library, which maintains a collection of campaign memorabilia, portraits, signatures, documents, commemorative items, and political cartoons of the Presidents, Vice Presidents, First Ladies and defeated presidential candidates, as well as the four Presidents of the Republic of Texas and Jefferson Davis, the only president of the Confederate States of America. In 2005, he became a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service (USPS).
Taking great pride in his work with the USPS, Mr. Hewitt maintains that his success is due to his concern for his customers and attention to detail when delivering mail and would like to be thought of as someone who takes care to ensure that their mail or packages arrive in good condition and is service-oriented.
