Mel Koller, Chief Executive Officer at Alabama Farm Credit, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business lending.
Since 2018, Mr. Koller has excelled as chief executive officer of Alabama Farm Credit, an organization that extends loans to purchase or improve farms, timberland, recreational property, agribusiness operations and rural homes, as well as makes agricultural operating loans to cover the day-to-day expenses of running a farm, producing a crop and managing a livestock herd. His responsibilities include working on strategic and political matters as well as higher-level operation issues. Currently, he is installing a new mainframe operating system and assisting in opening new geographic locations, constructing new buildings and facilities. From 2009 to 2018, Mr. Koller prospered with the Farm Credit Bank of Texas as vice president, serving as unit manager of association direct lending, senior credit manager and relationship manager.
After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Science in agricultural business and management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in 2003, Mr. Koller continued his education with a Masters in Agricultural Business from Arizona State University in Phoenix in 2008. In what he considers a career highlight, he matriculated at the Graduate Banking School at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Mr. Koller attributes his success to the guidance of his mentors, diligence, and hard work. He points proudly to Alabama Farm Credit’s 43 percent growth since he joined the company, attaining record profits and record dividends every year.
