After immigrating from her birthplace in Brazil to Germany, where she lived for 18 years, Ms. Kirstein excelled as a model, working with famed photographers Michael Hanhart and Patrick Demarchelier. Noting her love of cooking, her husband suggested she study at Le Cordon Bleu, and she thereupon earned a Grand Diploma from one of the most comprehensive and rigorous culinary programs in the world.
For over 20 years, Ms. Kirstein has flourished as a chef with Mazzu’s Catering in Southampton, New York, developing a worldwide reputation for presenting and mixing many different culinary styles to create an unforgettable experience for her customers. Her specialties include French pastry as well as Brazilian, Moroccan, German, Mexican, Mediterranean, Cuban, American, Italian, and Asian cuisine.
Fluent in Portuguese, German, French, English, and Italian, Ms. Kirstein attributes her success to hard work and being able to market well and considers her most notable achievement to be her education and her ability to thrive in international cuisines. In the coming years, she is hoping to publish cookbooks.
