Michele P. Thomas, Institutional Advancement Development Specialist at Morehouse School of Medicine, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business leadership and development.

Since 2012, Ms. Thomas has been a development specialist for the Morehouse School of Medicine’s Institutional Advancement Department, where she is responsible for a broad range of community outreach, donor relations, and project management functions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Clark Atlanta University and began her career as a program coordinator for the Martin Luther King Jr. Center as a program coordinator. At the King Center, Ms. Thomas organized fundraising events including the Salute To Greatness and met Coretta Scott King, who became one of her earliest and most impactful professional mentors. In 2003, Ms. Thomas accepted a position as a program manager in the Office of Campus Planning and Operations at the Morehouse School of Medicine.

Ms. Thomas’ work in the Office of Campus Planning and Operations received positive attention from the college’s president, who moved her into the school’s Office of Institutional Advancement in 2009. She spent three years as a resource development coordinator for the department before transitioning into her current role as a development specialist in 2012. After the implementation of remote workflow tools during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Thomas became an expert in the Smartsheet project management platform, training a team of 20 to use the platform to streamline confidential communications and information. Outside her work with the Morehouse School of Medicine, Ms. Thomas has been active as a member of the Pink Frog Foundation, the Atlanta Martin Luther King Jr. Day committee, and the Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy, among other groups. She is a three-time winner and four-time nominee for the Best Self Atlanta Magazine Over 40 And Fabulous list.
