Karen DiCarlo, Executive Director at Santa Claus Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in charitable entrepreneurship.

Since 1992, Ms. DiCarlo has provided superior service as the executive director for Santa Claus Inc., a premier warehousing operation providing year-round support to families with children living in poverty. The program distributes new childhood essentials to children from birth through the age of 17 through a growing network of 60+ partners across Southern California, including non-profits, school districts, community organizations, and county agencies.

Since 1999, Ms. DiCarlo has prospered as the owner and operator of Golden Bear Cottages, a historic year-round resort comprising over five wooded acres in Big Bear Lake featuring 28 cabins ranging from one bedroom to 7 bedrooms/4 bath, fit to accommodate large reunions, weddings, retreats, seminars, and conferences as well as family vacations and groups of all kinds.

From 1993 to 1998, Ms. DiCarlo excelled in charge of community relations, marketing and business development with the Pacific Suns professional minor league baseball team in Palm Springs. She set up community programs to send professional players to schools to talk about the benefits of working hard, staying away from drugs, pursuing education and following their dreams and developed various programs to bring kids and seniors to the ballpark as well as brought Suns Baseball reading and mathematics programs in conjunction with schools.

Ms. DiCarlo attributes her success to her passion for helping other people. She became involved in her profession because she was inspired by her mother, who taught her to be a volunteer when she was 12 years old, taking her at the local rest home on a Saturday morning where she would go around, visit and communicate with people who lived there. To her, helping other people especially those who are in need through volunteerism has always been her way of life. In coming years, Ms. DiCarlo hopes to continue her work as the executive director of Santa Claus Inc. As a close friend of the founder, she has goals for the organization that she needs to meet, and feels positive that the organization is strong and moving forward as they will be approaching their 70-year anniversary in 2022.
