Zachary Rilling, Airport Operations Coordinator at Des Moines Airport Authority, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in air traffic management.
Since 2018, Mr. Rilling has excelled with the Des Moines Airport Authority as an operations center attendant and operations coordinator. In these positions, he serves as lead dispatcher and junior supervisor overseeing safety, security and efficiency-related airport operations. Previously, he had found success with DAL Global Services LLC from 2015 to 2018, a premier aviation ground-handling services provider, a ramp agent and passenger services agent at the firm’s Manchester, New Hampshire location. Mr. Rilling thereupon prospered in 2018 as airport operations officer for the city of Wichita.
To bolster his career knowledge, Mr. Rilling obtained a Bachelor of Science in air traffic management from Daniel Webster College and a bachelor’s degree in aviation and airway management and operations from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018. He continued his education with a Master of Public Administration from Drake University in 2021. Mr. Rilling’s professional associations include International Aerodrome Certified Employee membership with the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) in 2020 and certified membership with the American Association of Airport Executives.
Mr. Rilling attributes his success to hard work, dedication, his uncompromising standards for himself and perseverance. Since his younger years, he harbored passion for aviation, loves the magic of flight and enjoys the challenge of flying and wants to make sure that it can be done safely. In coming years, Mr. Rilling hopes to be working on a Doctor of Philosophy in public administration and hopes to be in a university working as a research assistant as well and do teaching on the side. Professionally, he would like to become a director at a small-to-medium-sized airport.
