Doug Evans, Senior Partner at Research Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in research facilitation.
Mr. Evans initially obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln in 1967 and after postgraduate studies at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem in North Carolina, completed his education with a master’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska in 1970. He excelled as a teacher with Southwest Community College in Lincoln from 1963 to 1980.
After providing superior service as a teacher with Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln from 1968 to 1969, Mr. Evans served as a reporter with the Lincoln Journal newspaper and as director of public relations for John J. Pershing College in Beatrice, Nebraska from 1969 to 1970. He had also been an English teacher with Pershing for one year through 1971.
Mr. Evans prospered as a research associate with EDUTEK in Lincoln from 1971 to 1975 and has served as a senior partner with Research Associates from 1975 to the present, a research wing for small to medium-sized companies, creating original electronic content for research. In addition, he served as director of business development with the Miller & Paine department store in Lincoln from 1987 to 1988.
Mr. Evans draws a sense of pride from his career as a political consultant for his firm, Research Associates, after being responsible for nearly 150 bond issues for schools across Nebraska. The company focuses on helping pass various statewide laws that benefit the state, which he considers very fulfilling. In the coming years, his goals are to remain accessible, to keep his intellect sharp so that he can help people, and to make things better.
Mr. Evans’ civic memberships include the Rotary Club, as secretary of the board of directors with the Folsom Children’s Zoo, the Lincoln Community Playhouse and the Flatwater Festival, the Board of Education, Lincoln Public Schools, the State Board Voices for Children, and chairmanship in the Scholarship Committee of the Lincoln Community Foundation. He has accrued numerous awards and has been included in the Young Alumni of the Year by Nebraska Wesleyan University; Outstanding Leader by Leadership Lincoln and Sprint; Member of the Year of the Newcomen Society and Lincoln Marketing Club; Person of the Year by the Education Association; and named to Outstanding Young Men in America.
