Since 2007, Mr. Coursey has flourished as the president of Coursey Properties Inc., a premier real estate broker in Moreland. The Corsey family’s roots in the Atlanta region go back to the post-Revolutionary era, initially farmers, builders, and land brokers, with still-existing handwritten deeds dating back to the 1820s attesting to some of their purchases and sales of property throughout the north Georgia area. More recently, the family has been involved in landscaping, architecture and agriculture.
Mr. Coursey provided exemplary service to his community as captain and paramedic with the Fulton County Fire Department from 1977 to 2001, specializing in aircraft crash, fire and rescue and public relations. In addition, he has lent his volunteer services to the 1996 Olympic Games, during which he served as a community liaison for production and broadcast services. In addition, he has assisted with publicity for the Women’s World Cup Tournament, Georgia Games Fencing and the World Championship Wheelchair Fencing Tournament.
Mr. Coursey initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He counts among his greatest professional achievements selling multiple warehouses for a charter school as a realtor as well as serving in fire and rescue operations for over three decades. In the coming years, he is hoping for continued success with Coursey Properties.
