Mary Gregory, Founder at Cades Cove Preservation Association Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in historic preservation.

In 2001, Ms. Gregory founded the Cades Cove Preservation Association Inc., an organization whose mission is to preserve the heritage and culture of the Cades Cove community, founded by the Oliver and Jobe families in the 1820s located in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in Tennessee. Her devotion to history and conservation efforts stem from deep familial roots in the region, since her parents and many of her relatives hailed from Cades Cove. As a stay-at-home mother, Ms. Gregory taught sewing at local community organization, guided her children within sports as a coach and Girl Scout and Boy Scout groups as a local leader. Ms. Gregory also volunteered at a local school to assist students who needed assistance and as officer of local PTA arranged for a name sign to be placed near the school entrance.

Besides her preservation and community efforts, Ms. Gregory as also prospered in the field of electrical and computer engineering as an electrical designer and quality analyst for the EloTouch Company. In addition, she has excelled in computer-aided design (CAD) for companies in Alcoa, Oak Ridge, Knoxville, Pittsburgh, Reston, Virginia and Mobile, Alabama. After completing coursework in electronics with the University of Tennessee from 1980 to 1981, Ms. Gregory later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Maryville College in 1997.

Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Gregory has also been active as the founder of the Englewood Area Historical Museum and several other culture endeavors. In addition, she was a longtime member of, and an activist for, the National Organization for Women. Ms. Gregory attributes her success to being given opportunities to do things, having had help along the way as well as the fortitude to look ahead, plan things out, work with different types of people, and always keep her goals in mind.
