To further his knowledge in information technology, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in computer science in 2012 from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
Previously, Mr. Kaufhold had prospered as an employee in the athletic department with the Niles Park District from 2004 to 2013, where he assisted in running different sports activities including baseball and the biggest basketball league in the Midwest, trained new employees and communicated and interacted with families and employees during activities. He has also excelled as assistant manager and baker with the House of Cakes in Chicago from 2004 to the present.
To remain aware of changes and advancements in his field, Mr. Kaufhold maintains affiliations with the Illinois Digital Educators Alliance, the International Society for Technology Education, Illinois Educational Technology Leaders and Illinois Computing Educators.
Mr. Kaufhold attributes his success to his coworkers, some of whom were his teachers in elementary school. When he was hired, they helped him along the way and supported him. As a career highlight, he cites making Niles Elementary School District 71 a school in which each student has his or her own electronic device. In the coming years, Mr. Kaufhold sees himself in the same school district or in a larger one as a technology director or chief technology officer.
