Since 2016, Mr. Yamamoto has provided superior service as chief technology officer of Miftek Inc., a premier technology development company in West Lafayette, Indiana focused on next-generation cellular analysis solutions, working in the micro-fluidic domain by integrating the latest capabilities with new methods for identifying cellular systems and their function with the goal of developing next-generation diagnostic tools. As chief technology officer, he makes decisions for the overarching technology infrastructure that closely aligns with the organization’s goals, while keeping aware of new and existing technologies.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in physics in 1973 from the University of Tokyo, Mr. Yamamoto excelled as a general manager with Sony, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of consumer and professional electronic products, where he helped develop optical recording and display tech, compact discs and Blu-ray discs. He continued as Sony’s chief technical communications advisor in Champaign, Illinois from 2010 to 2012 and as vice president of Sony’s bioscience technologies and business development division in Yokohama from 2012 to 2014. Since the latter year, Mr. Yamamoto has imparted his technology expertise as an adjunct professor with Purdue University in West Lafayette.

Mr. Yamamoto attributes his success to his determination and focus and on his career. Winning an Emmy Award for helping create Blu-ray technology in 2011 has been what he calls his most notable achievement. In the coming years, he intends to continue his success in developing new products with Miftek, Inc.
