Following obtaining a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 2001, magna cum laude, from the University of Missouri in in Columbia, Dr. Ringer continued his education with a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics in 2007 from The University of Texas at Austin. He then served as a quantitative analyst Intern with BNP Paribas in New York.

Dr. Ringer provided superior service as a trader with the Susquehanna International Group in Philadelphia from 2007 to 2015, where he oversaw trading equity options flow and risk management of trades, prop-traded options in a variety of names, both through broker-flow and electronic market-taking and developed methodologies and worked with quantitative analysts to perform statistical studies on trading performance against flow. He served as a Nikkei 225 Options Market Maker in Sydney, Australia from 2012 to 2013.

With Parallax Volatility Advisors in San Francisco from 2016 through 2019, Dr. Ringer ran the financials, aerospace, chemicals and defense books and handled both broker trading and electronic market-taking along with correlation/dispersion trading on the equity options volatility desk.

Since 2020, Dr. Ringer has flourished as a trader with the equity options flow desk with Citadel Securities in New York, responsible for trading, hedging and managing risk for customer-facing block-trading desk. In addition, he manages broker relationships for the firm’s market-making team and works with quantitative analysts and developers to design and implement tools for risk and book management.

Dr. Ringer attributes his success to a supportive, caring, and loving family as well as his confidence and tenacity. He is proud of the amount of responsibility that he has been handed and his ability to gain trust. The fact that he has been able to find success and his senior voice is what he is most proud of in his career.
