Christopher W. McCann has been featured internationally in publications including the New York Times, the Miami Herald, Dallas Morning News and Canadian media. He initially earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management with a minor in architecture from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts in 1987. He is the current construction manager for the Markley Group. Previously, Mr. McCann served as the construction manager for Parsons Corporation, Skanska USA Building Inc., Suffolk Construction and Walls Bros. Designer Kitchens.
Mr. McCann’s areas of expertise are civil engineering and construction, as well as hydraulics. For the Markley Group, he oversees safety for all projects, preventing incidents. He monitors critical facilities, critical construction power telecommunication and internet functions. He is also responsible for safety plans and operations.
Mr. McCann credits his success to his problem-solving abilities and learning how to use analytical methods that are crucial to the construction industry. He has made learning part of his life’s work, continuing his education through participation in multiple projects at Harvard University. The constantly changing construction industry appealed to him early in his career, as the quick pace of construction is an excellent test of problem-solving. Mr. McCann also refines these skills as a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. He is the recipient of the Project Award from the American Institute of Architects, an AGC Build America Award, an AGC Small Project Award and several other awards from the Associated General Contractors of America for multiple projects.
