Dr. Dessie transitioned to real estate in 2015, after which he prospered as a representative with Long & Foster Real Estate in Rockville, Maryland, serving the Capital District. Dr. Dessie is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Greater Capital Association of Realtors. Keenly interested in community affairs, Dr. Dessie is currently an elder at Seventh Day Adventist Church and is also a financial literacy trainer for the Ethiopian Community Development Council and the secretary of the board for the Ethiopian American Chamber of Commerce.
