Wayne Liu, Chief Growth Officer and President at Perfect Corp., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in technology.
Backed by more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Liu currently excels as the chief growth officer and president of Perfect Corp., a role he commenced in 2015 while also serving as general manager and vice president of business development until 2019. In his current position, he is responsible for strategic planning, researching reports and studies, team management, business development, engineering and marketing. His areas of expertise include artificial intelligence, augmented reality and strategic planning. Mr. Liu became involved in his profession due to an opportunity extended to him by his previous executive, Alice Chang, who asked him to go into business with her. He accepted the offer not only to help himself grow, but also to challenge himself by broadening his horizons as a professional and an expert in the field, as well as an entrepreneur.
Finding great success in his career endeavors, Mr. Liu has been featured and published in numerous esteemed publications. In 2021, he was distinguished with the Global Top 100 Leaders in Fashion and Beauty Award. Moreover, Perfect Corp. has been lauded with two Edison Awards and Time Magazine’s 2020 Best 100 Innovation of The Year. Earlier, in 2013, he was the recipient of a Lenovo Supplier Award for Innovation. Mr. Liu attributes his success to the people who supported him along the way, particularly his mentors, his teammates, and most importantly, his family. Alongside his accolades, he notes being able to create a program to identify the most optimized way to power save while working at Intel has been one of his career highlights.
Prior to his present role, Mr. Liu began his career as a design engineer for USC/ISI from 1995 to 1997, senior HW design engineer for Intel from 1997 to 2000, senior staff design engineer for Broadcom from 2000 to 2002 and design manager for LinCom Wireless in 2002. He later advanced to managerial roles, serving from 2009 to 2015 as the director of business development for CyberLink. Upon showing his prowess, he was further appointed to the position of assistant vice president of global business development in 2015. To remain abreast of his industry, Mr. Liu maintains membership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Cosmetic Executive Women. He is also involved with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, California Fire Foundation and DKMS.
Mr. Liu first earned a Bachelor of Science in materials science and engineering from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan in 1991. He went on to later achieve a Master of Science in materials science and engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 1994, a Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University in 2011 and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Southern California in 1998. Additionally, he holds certification in both digital marketing strategies and project management. Looking toward the future, Mr. Liu hopes to continue to support efforts that focus on climate change and charity works that support breast cancer awareness and research in order to empower others.
