She has attained certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Financial Planner, an Enrolled Agent, a Certified Student Loan Professional, a Certified Exit Planning analyst, a Certified Valuation Analyst, a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Retirement Income Certified Professional.

Ms. Yam has provided superior service as a senior renewals manager and financial manager with TIME Magazine from 1987 to 1993. As a qualified plan consultant and principal with premier business consultant Pension Maxima Investment Advisory since 2007, she has striven to uphold a commitment to transparency regarding costs, assist plan sponsors with their fiduciary responsibility, build a comprehensive investment platform that stresses not only upside returns down but also minimizes downside captures as well as a platform that puts clients first. During this time, she has also imparted her knowledge as adjunct professor with SUNY Westchester Community College.

Ms. Yam’s professional memberships include the Business Council of Westchester, CFA Institute, CFP Board, Exit Planning Institute, Mahwah Chamber of Commerce, NACVA, Westchester County Association, Westchester County MWBE Task Force, New York Financial Planning Association, Exit Planning Institute, NY CPA Association and Chinese CPA Association. She has authored the publications “Principles of Financial Wellness,” “Financial Wellness FAQs,” “Financial Wellness Tower Workbook” and “Bonnie’s Bulls” as well as the e-books “Understanding 5500” and “401(k) Plan Health.”

Ms. Yam attributes her success to her mathematics professor Jim Henle, who encouraged her to pursue perfection. As a career highlight, she cites teaching at the State University of New York as she feels a great sense of gratification from assisting the students there. In the coming years, Ms. Yam would like to continue promoting financial wellness, as many people think it is a complex subject and she maintains that it does not need to be.
