Mildred “Millie” Lee, Owner and Founder at National Enforcement Safety Training LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in trucking.
Ms. Lee is an entrepreneur, business owner and trailblazer who was the first female outside recruiter in the trucking industry, a job she earned in 1991. She found success with the same client until 2007. When she started her own company in 2011, she had only three clients, which she has built to more than 100 a decade later. Previously, she has worked in the trucking industry as a safety director, a log auditor and a recruiter.
Hard work and being aggressive have helped Ms. Lee find her career path in the trucking industry. Talking with others and studying have helped her to move forward in a career that is overwhelmingly male-dominated. She collaborated as a headhunter when a trucking company attempted to hire her services, though she initially turned the job down, as she knew nothing about the trucking industry. After being encouraged to interview for the job, she obtained the position and discovered that the trucking industry is the perfect fit for her personality and career. Now, she has her own employees as a leader in the trucking industry.
Ms. Lee was working as an auditor for a client when she asked if she could be the company’s safety manager. This is when she began performing the duties that her company now provides to dozens of clients. This first client used her services for 14 years. National Enforcement Safety Training, LLC has been previously honored with a Good Company Award.
Ms. Lee is certified in reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. For her company, she performs DOT audits, files taxes, obtains permits and conducts HAZMAT training. She has additionally conducted many hours of service training as well as pre-and post-script training. A main focus of the company is keeping clients compliant with all the regulations and codes, a necessity of the industry that can potentially save companies from hefty fines. Her areas of expertise include safety, consulting and training.
Ms. Lee was drawn to the constant changes that happen in the trucking industry, as regulations change, technology changes and everything is fast-paced. With 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, she leads a fast-paced life. She is also active as a member of Toastmasters International and an officer in the Arizona Trucking Association.
