He has also been a regional childcare coordinator, program manager and regional contracts manager at Washington State Department of Social and Health Services since 1998. Prior to this, he was a regional credit manager for Oakwood Homes from 1997 to 1998 and for First Citizens Bank from 1994 to 1997.
Mr. Wilkins began his education at Laney College in Oakland, California, completing coursework in public speaking. He continued learning at Bishop A.L. Hardy Academy of Theology in Seattle, Washington, earning his master’s degree in administration and religious arts in 1997. He completed coursework in business management and supervision at South Seattle College.
A speaker and performer by nature, Mr. Wilkins is a singer and musician for the Spirit Rhythm Gang, a position he has held since 2014. He is an ordained pastor, an author and an active member of his community, belonging to such groups as the Fife Police Department Task Force on Race Relations and the Young Men’s Christian Academy. He holds multiple professional certifications and has been the recipient of multiple professional and humanitarian awards.
