Title: Director of Operations
Company: Baltimore Guardian Angels
Location: Bel Air, Maryland, United States
John Stump, Director of Operations at Baltimore Guardian Angels, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in safety and crime prevention.
Having earned a master’s degree and a PhD in taxation, Mr. Stump has provided superior service as a senior tax auditor with the state of Florida from 1989 to 2000 and the Casino at Delaware Park from 2005 to the present. Since 2007, he has prospered as director of operations for the Baltimore branch of the Guardian Angels, a nonprofit international volunteer organization with the goal of unarmed crime prevention. As part of his crime fighting efforts, Mr. Stump helped rewrite the Baltimore Guardian Angels training manual and developed a statistical analysis for Baltimore City homicides. He is a san dan, or third-degree, black belt in korindo aikido as well as a second-degree black belt awarded by the Aikikai Foundation. Additionally, he was named to the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2015.
Mr. Stump attributes his success to the people around him who have inspired him. Having learned a lot from them, he hopes to continue to pass along what he has learned so they can carry it forward, whether he is working as an auditor or out in the field training with the Guardian Angels. Mr. Stump became involved in his profession because his brother-in-law happened to be the regional chapter commander as well as the chapter commander for the Baltimore Guardian Angels. He was the one to ask him to come and join him in the nonprofit organization and he agreed. In his research about the Baltimore Guardian Angels, he realized that the goal was simply to make a difference. As a career highlight, he is proudest of initiating the Angel Watch citizens patrol program as well as the anti-bullying training program for the Guardian Angels. In the coming years, Mr. Stump is hoping to retire and watch his grandchildren grow.
