After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Boston University, Ms. Farina gained valuable experience in recruitment from 1994 to 2000 as the executive vice president of Abbott Personnel Consulting, through which she trained new employees and utilized innovative solutions in the marketing and placements aspects of the industry, during which time she also served as a contract recruiter for KPMG in the Boston area. In 2000, she founded Signature Staffing, Inc., a premier executive recruitment firm based in Boston that draws on a diverse group of connections and clients in a multitude of fields that include accounting, advertising, banking, business administration, biotech/pharmaceutical, engineering, fashion, finance, healthcare, information technology, legal, marketing, public relations, real estate and retail. Ms. Farina has taken a hands-on approach, investigating candidates, overseeing daily business operations and handling the company’s finances.
Ms. Farina is most proud of reinventing herself to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of recruitment. She has been media-savvy, hosting her own radio program and has been featured in the Huffington Post website. In order to remain aware of ongoing industry changes, she maintains professional alignment with the National Association of Professional Women. Additionally, she dedicates herself to others as a volunteer lead with Hero Helpers of America, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and Wounded Warriors. Ms. Farina has also donated toward the renovation of Boston City Hospital’s Pediatric Waiting Room and Library. She gives generously to cancer research, as well as other charitable contributions. In the coming years, Ms. Farina intends to engage in consultancy in which she hopes to assist underprivileged young women acquire and keep good jobs.
