Juan Jiménez-Vélez, planner at Puerto Rico Planning Board, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in field of geography.
With over 30 years of experience to his credit. Mr. Jiménez-Vélez has excelled as a planner with the Puerto Rico Planning Board. In this role, he primarily analyzes land-use policies, codes, and territorial plans for municipalities. In addition to his primary positions, he is also an interagency coordinator with the Puerto Rico Emergency Management Bureau, a role in which he operates alongside the 249th Engineer Battalion of the United States Army Corps of Engineers to assess Puerto Rican power plants. Adjacent to his work in the field, Mr. Jiménez-Vélez also conducts pro bono assessments for municipalities and assists with proposals to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Jiménez-Vélez previously pursued a formal education. Having studied at the University of Puerto Rico, he earned a bachelor’s degree in geography and a Master of Science in planning. In addition to his academic credentials, he is also a licensed planner and geographer in Puerto Rico. Mr. Jiménez-Vélez has accomplished a great deal over the course of his career, and he largely attributes his professional success to his tenacity and dedication. In the coming years, he hopes to continue being a good father, and he aspires to write a book on geography and policymaking.
