After immigrating to the United States from Honduras in 1995, Mr. Rodriguez excelled in the construction and interior remodeling industry in Texas for four years, which allowed him to gain carpentry skills that he parlayed into work in the tile and stone industry, a step that took him closer to his current business. During this time, he taught himself the English language and added to his construction and design skills in decorative stonework.
Following more than a year of working for two companies in the aforementioned industry, Mr. Rodriguez began to provide services on his own. It was the gateway that directly led him to build his own successful business in marble fabrication, installation and restoration, JRA Marble & Granite Corp. in Fort Lee, New Jersey, in 2001.
As a career highlight, Mr. Rodriguez takes pride in being able to grow his own business from the ground up as an immigrant, but his biggest fulfillment was being able to take care of family, especially his mother. She single-handedly worked hard to provide for him and his four brothers and being able to support her fills his heart with great joy. Aspiring to continue achieving greater heights for himself and his family as a husband, father and provider, Mr. Rodriguez is similarly concerned for his employees, whom he considers as his extended family, and also hopes to become not only a better employer, but a better friend to them as well. In the coming years, he envisions himself as a developer. His eldest son is studying architecture and will become a big part in the business as well.
