Mr. Glew obtained a Bachelor of Science in industrial management and technology from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1970 and subsequently served in the United States Army Reserve from 1970 to 1984, attaining the rank of captain. He continued his education with a Master of Business Administration in manufacturing technology in 1977 from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. From 1973 to 1982, Mr. Glew excelled as a product manager with cord sets and portable cords with International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation’s Royal Electric division, in wire and cable market development with Soltex Polymers from 1982 to 1988, and in specialty compounds manufacturer Alphagary from 1988 to 1995.
Mr. Glew then made an impact as vice president of sales, marketing, research, and development with Neptco, Inc. from 1995 to 1997, a premier manufacturer of laminates, adhesives, and advanced polymeric coatings. Since 1998, Mr. Glew has found much success as president and founder of Cable Components Group, a leading provider of components and compounds for the wire and cable and optical fiber industries, as well as yarn and nonwovens for high-temperature filtration, textiles, and other uses, based in Pawcatuck, Connecticut. As a career highlight, he cites his launch of 26 patents under his name that is mostly focused on enhancing the material science of cabling. In the coming years, Mr. Glew intends to renovate and redevelop properties, which has given him much enjoyment.
