George Raymond Turnage, Senior Pastor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Mr. Turnage co-founded the LePeristyle Haitian Sanctuary Inc. in 1980, and in 1999 he was the co-founder of the National African Religion Congress, which he went on to serve as president and chairman. He is a senior pastor with the LePeristyle Haitian Sanctuary Inc., and additionally expresses himself through numerous creative endeavors. Mr. Turnage is an artist working with oil paint, acrylics, watercolors, and pastels, and he is also a composer and author. In his spare time, he enjoys studying ancient natural remedies.
In preparation for his career pursuits, Mr. Turnage attended the California College of the Arts, completing coursework in fine arts and interior design in 1978. He completed further coursework at Lincoln University in 1980 and earned a certificate in studio music production and music history from the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University in 2021. Now a senior pastor, from 2004 to 2014, Mr. Turnage was a behavioral therapist with AdvoServ in Swedesboro, New Jersey.
Mr. Turnage attributes his success to learning about indigenous peoples and cultures. He also credits his propensity to overcome failure. He considers graduating from the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2021 to be a career highlight, and he is also proud of his career’s international recognition for unifying African faith across the United States and several other nations. As the son of Reverend Bishop Herman Julius Turnage Sr. and spiritual songstress Helen Magnolia Elerby-Turnage, Mr. Turnage hopes to see the continued growth of the LePeristyle Haitian Sanctuary Inc. in the coming years.
