In preparation for her career as a jeweler, Ms. Clodius attended the Gemological Institute of America, earning an Applied Jewelry Professional diploma and a Graduate Diamonds diploma. She has served as the co-founder and vice president of Clodius & Co. Jewelers since 1999. Clodius & Co. is a custom jeweler in Rockford, Illinois, boasting over 250 years of combined experience on staff. The company focuses on providing the highest value for the price to its customers and creating lasting personal relationships with its clientele. Ms. Clodius works with her husband, Mark, and shares the responsibility for buying, marketing, and overseeing some of the company’s inventory.
Ms. Clodius has contributed her knowledge as a guest lecturer on customer service to Rock Valley College since 2003 and a member of the Dean’s Action Council at the University of Illinois College of Medicine since 2015. Throughout her professional and personal lives, she has been recognized with multiple awards and accolades, including a Star Life Award from the Rockford Fire Department for saving her neighbor’s life. Ms. Clodius also earned a Best New Business Award in 1999, a First Place award from America’s Coolest Stores with Instore Magazine, and various recognitions from art fairs. She views her success as the cumulative result of her life experience, both positive and negative. In the coming years, she plans to continue experiencing the success of her business and engaging in volunteerism with nonprofit organizations.
