Prior to her current appointment, she operated as a business editor for the newspaper from 2008 to 2021. Adjacent to her primary duties as a journalist, she is also the owner of Five Stars to Under-the-Stars, her own personal travel blog that she started in 2011. To commemorate her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Wooldridge was recognized as the Lowell Thomas Travel Journalist of the Year for 2006 and 2007.
As part of her dedication to her professional endeavors, Ms. Wooldridge has remained affiliated with the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) Foundation for much of her career, having previously served as the organization’s president between 2019 and 2020 and as a member of the board of directors from 2006 to 2021. Before beginning her vocational journey, Ms. Wooldridge pursued a formal education at Duke University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and public policy, magna cum laude, in 1980. Attributing much of her success to her flexibility and persistence, she is notably proud to have found opportunities to travel to over 100 different countries worldwide over the course of her career.
