Specializing in commercial construction, he has operated as the owner and chief executive officer of Cald & A Consulting Company LLC since 1996. The business serves as a general contractor for federal, state and municipality construction throughout Texas. Mr. Calderon’s company can currently bond up to $40 million.
Prior to taking ownership of his current company, Mr. Calderon served as the owner of Italia Construction for 10 years. He was also a general foreman for Brown & Root Industrial Services (now KBR Inc.) for three years. Having worked with Kiewit Corporation for three years as well, he served in several key roles, beginning as a driving foreman and rising to the position of structure superintendent. As part of his dedication to his profession, Mr. Calderon remains affiliated with several local freemason organizations, as well as the Better Business Bureau.
Mr. Calderon was originally inspired to pursue a career in construction by his father, who also worked extensively in the same field. To wit, much of what he has learned from his family revolves around core values of dedication and knowledge. Thus, prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Calderon pursued a formal education at the University of New Mexico, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Calderon attributes his success to the support of his family. Accounting for his accomplishments, he is notably proud to have established a profitable business model, which he hopes will serve as a proper legacy for his ten children, all of whom he is thankful to have in his life. Looking to the future, Mr. Calderon intends to continue working and finding success in his profession for as long as he is able.
