Herman Lee Scheller, Farmer and Woodworker, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Mr. Scheller currently excels as a farmer and woodworker on his own farm. Prior to this endeavor, he garnered decades of experience as a coal miner. From 1994 to 2017, he was a coal miner with Peabody Energy. For his accomplishments, Mr. Scheller was named Outstanding Farmer of the Year in Vanderburgh County in 1973.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Scheller is a past board member of the Armstrong Recreation Center. He was recognized for donating his equipment to help the Future Farmers of America at an area school. Mr. Scheller was born on a farm, and after his father’s tragic passing in a car accident, he took over the farm at the young age of 16. After being forced to quit his schooling, he farmed and worked as a coal miner to feed his family. Later in life, he returned to his education and earned a GED. In the coming years, he has no plans to retire. Mr. Scheller hopes to continue farming for as long as he can.
