He also ranked in the Top 100 on the Inc. 5000 list and achieved Rank 10 in GSA National Sales and Rank 1 in California. Reflecting on his path, he initially entered the security industry to make ends meet. However, as he became more involved in collaborating with government agencies and focusing on K-12 school districts, he discovered a deep passion for helping educational leaders address the complex challenges of enhancing campus safety.

Mr. Van Norman takes great pride in starting his own business and being “in control of his destiny” to best support his customers. He says that starting his own company was always a dream, but it seemed out of reach for most of his career. ICU Technologies was an existing business, and with the help of his two business partners, he achieved over $100 million in revenue in the first six years and is now positioned as one of the top industry leaders in K-12 campus safety and security. He attributes his success to his passion, mission-driven approach, and dedication to hard work, always prioritizing providing for his family and leaving a lasting legacy. In the coming years, he aims to enable his team to continue advancing their mission of enhancing school safety and sustaining the ICU legacy. He also seeks to spend more time with his family, travel, and potentially explore new business ventures.
