Ms. de Zafra-Atwell looks back on 43 years of professional experience, having stepped down as the Director of Science Education and Senior Program Analyst of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. In her active years, Ms. de Zafra-Atwell led a discussion group on creative aging and volunteered as a long-term care ombudsman. She also worked in career-directed intergovernmental working groups in records and systems security management and the development of governmental training standards. Ms. de Zafra-Atwell managed all aspects of the contracting process for the development and field testing of science education curriculum supplements related to alcohol abuse and alcoholism. Ms. de Zafra-Atwell is currently enjoying an active retirement following a rewarding career with the federal government.
