Alan Reid, Senior Information Systems Analyst, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in computer systems.
Mr. Reid has contributed to 14 hardware and software installations and upgrades for 42 aviation departments, valued at more than $6 million. He recently retired from the United States Marine Corps after 30 years of service, achieving the rank of E-9 master gunnery sergeant. For the last two years, Mr. Reid has served A2Z, Inc., Logistics Services as a senior information systems analyst, a position in which he employs his expertise in information technology management to provide naval logistics communications systems support for all vessels. In addition, he oversees training, backup services, troubleshooting, and long-distance support. Utilizing his 32 years of industry experience, he also teaches system administration classes to sailors. His accomplishments with the Virginia-based IT and logistics services company include standing up a new classroom of 21 computers with multiple virtualizations software packages for a variety of user-based training on a variety of platforms. In addition, Mr. Reid has created four new Windows 2003 Server Platforms to use as DHCP, WINS, Account/Network Management, and Classroom Instruction.
Mr. Reid enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1979, becoming a driver and dispatcher of First Tanks BN/USMC in Japan until 1983. He returned to the United States in the same position, next working as an avionics technician. In the late 1980s, Mr. Reid worked as a material controller and retired from the service with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Reid also holds a Bachelor of Science in information technology management from National University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Mr. Reid has been recognized on numerous occasions for his work and service. In 2010, he was honored with a Meritorious Service Award. He received an Employee of the Quarter award in 1997 and is also a two-time recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. Furthermore, he has received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation twice, and a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal four times. Mr. Reid has also received the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and is the seven-time recipient of the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the ten-time recipient of the Marine Corps.
