Leonard L. Mazur, Chairman at Citius Pharmaceuticals, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the pharmaceutical industry.
Mr. Mazur has experienced a prolific career that has spanned over four decades. While researching different industries in college, he discovered that the pharmaceutical industry has researched and produced life-saving drugs which have contributed to the betterment and well-being of humans. In 1968, he received a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University and subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration from the same university in 1975. While obtaining his degrees, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1965 to 1971.
Since 2013, Mr. Mazur has served Citius Pharmaceuticals, Inc., as chairman, as well as Triax Pharmaceuticals LLC as vice chairman and co-founder since 2008. From 2006 to 2012, he served Triax Pharmaceuticals LLC as the chief operating officer, having previously held the roles of chairman and chief executive officer of Genesis Pharmaceutical, Inc., from 1996 to 2006. Prior to these illustrious positions, he was vice chairman of Cabot Laboratories, Inc., from 1994 to 1996, executive vice president of Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation from 1989 to 1993, president and chief operating officer of Chantal Pharmaceutical Corporation from 1988 to 1989, and vice president of ICN Pharmaceutical Corporation from 1984 to 1988, where he launched a life-saving drug for infants for a rare respiratory virus.
In addition, Mr. Mazur worked for Knoll Pharmaceutical Corporate Division as the director of product management, Cooper Laboratories as a marketing manager, and Akrimax Pharmaceuticals as the chief operating officer and co-founder. Having been on the board of directors of Intellicell, Inc., since 2011, he also formerly served on the board of directors of Photomedix, Inc., from 2009 to 2012 and as a partner of Mazier Partners LLC from 1995 to 2005. Civically, he has been a trustee of Manor College since 2000 and on the board of visitors of the College of Liberal Arts at Temple University since 2006. Likewise, he previously held the role of independent observer of the Referendum on Independents in Ukraine in 1991, was on the advisory board of Manor College from 1972 to 1978, and was on the board of trustees of the West Catholic Preparatory School.
Mr. Mazur attributes his success to the chief executive officer at the first company for which he worked, as he was an inspirational figure in his life. The holder of multiple patents for cholesterol-lowering drugs in 1992, Mr. Mazur has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career, including the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2012 and the Diamond Achievement Award from Temple University in 2005. In 2009, he was inducted into the West Catholic High School Hall of Fame.
A native of Ansbach, Germany, Mr. Mazur has been married to Helena Maria Olijnyk since 1966 and is the proud father of three children. He has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who in the World.
