Most recently, she has been the executive vice president of Connections2careers since 2021 and the chief executive officer of Painting & Disaster Restoration Academy since 2020, which are both business ventures that provide education to individuals and involve construction. In addition, she has been the senior editor of CFI’s Flooring Specialist Magazine since 2020 and the owner and president of the Association of Stellar Events, LLC since 1991. Ms. Oderkirk had also been executive vice president of the Flooring Contractors Association from 1999 to 2020.
Notably, Ms. Oderkirk was the recipient of a Top 20 Women Award from Floor Covering News in 2006. She attributes her success to her organization and motivation, along with her passion for her work. Ms. Oderkirk earned a Bachelor of Arts in advertising and business from Michigan State University in 1984. She later attained a Pandemic Meeting & Event Design Certification in 2020, as well became an NCCER Certified Instructor and OCT-Odor Control Technician in 2021. In the next five years, Ms. Oderkirk aspires for the academy to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining. Her goal is to be able to build a team of passionate individuals who are willing to go up, work with her events, write curriculum, talk to sponsors, and truly know the program.
