After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in urban affairs and psychology from Saint Louis University in 1975, Dr. Barbieri continued his education with a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from Pacific Western University in 1985. After serving his country for seven years in the U.S. military, he graduated from the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Police Academy. While active as a police officer, he was recruited by the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security for which he worked as a contract covert operative for more than 15 years under the direction of Special Agent James T. Sanford.
Since 1989, Dr. Barbieri has excelled as an executive security and investigative consultant at Global Intelligence Consultants Inc. The firm specializes in national and international investigations and provides bodyguards and executive protection, extractions of corporate executives and students jailed in foreign countries, and excels in kidnap recoveries worldwide.
Dr. Barbieri takes special pride in having solved four cold case murders in the United States and two foreign cold case murders, in which he did not speak the language. He also fondly recalls collaborating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on one of the largest cases in St. Louis. Dr. Barbieri has been distinguished by the International Association of Private Investigators as one of the foremost private investigators in the world. Additionally, he has been invited to speak in interviews on radio and television shows and has been likewise published in numerous works within his field, which include contributions to reputable outlets including Lawyers Magazine, Town & Style Magazine, Fox News, CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC News, KSDK CH 5 and KMOV CH 14 and AM & FM radio news networks.
