Akeem Iman-Jones, Human Resources Director at Boeing Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in personnel administration.

Since 2013, Mr. Iman-Jones has thrived in human resources (HR) with Boeing, the multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles worldwide. He has excelled as an HR director/business partner in global sales, marketing and communications, director of HR site leader for Boeing South Carolina, HR global merger and acquisition leader, and since 2020, HR executive and site leader of Boeing’s vertical lift-defense division located in Philadelphia and Mesa, Arizona.

Previously, Mr. Iman-Jones has provided superior service from 1998 to 2005 as a regional employee relations specialist for American Family Insurance in Westerville Ohio; director of human resources, specialty products, from 2005 to 2009 with Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio and director of human resources from 2009 to 2013 with Cardinal Health in Dublin, Ohio.

Earlier, Mr. Iman-Jones had obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1999 in human resources and liberal arts from Urbana University in Ohio, later continuing his education with a Master of Business Administration in human resources from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. His areas of expertise in HR include mergers and acquisitions, employee relations including unions, diversity and leadership development programs, organizational effectiveness and strategic workforce planning.

Mr. Iman-Jones’s professional memberships include National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAHR), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Black Enterprise Next Generation of Executives Class and the National Black MBA Association. Among the many accolades that give him a sense of fulfillment is the award for his diversity efforts within the industry, as well as a continuous slew of awards from external organizations for his community involvements.

Mr. Iman-Jones is proudest of being able to impact the workforce in a positive way through meaningful mentorship. Best known by many as a transformational leader, he is in charge of 52 mentees throughout the world. The push for diversity is critically important to him, as he is passionate about women representation and underrepresented groups, including those with disabilities. The biggest mark he has made in the area pertains to ensuring diversity representation and mitigation of diversity gaps.

In the coming years, Mr. Iman-Jones would like to continue to educate individuals about the power of knowing self-preservation. Part of this goal is to become an adjunct professor, focusing on international business and/or human resources. Having had a wealth of experience in advising senior executives in his organization, he would also like to be more involved in executive coaching. Finally, Mr. Iman-Jones is keen on utilizing his speaking talents to talk about and embrace the true diversity of multi-generations within the workforce as the next generation of diversity.
