Don Elijah Eckhart, Instructor at Ohio State University and Ohio University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in government administration and spiritual instruction.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science in 1972, magna cum laude, from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Eckhart continued his education with a Master of Public Administration in 1974 from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He later earned a Master of Arts in Christian theology in 2015 and a doctorate in 2020 from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ohio.
Dr. Eckhart has excelled in numerous support and administrative roles including budget and administration officer from 1974 to 1978 for Flint, Michigan; senior staff analyst and manager of policy and financial analysis and acting task force manager from 1978 to 1982 for Dayton, Ohio; budget manager for Montgomery County, Ohio from 1982 to 1985 and with the Ohio Legislative Service Commission and Legislative Budget Office as a budget analyst and division chief from 1985 to 2004. He has provided superior education as an instructor with Ohio State University and Ohio University and with the Certified Public Manager Program from 2005 to 2008. Mr. Eckhart was a candidate for the United States Senate from Ohio in 2018, and in the same year, in what he considers a career highlight, he published “Jesus The Everlasting Hope of Humankind: Biblical Theology Prompted by Visions and Dreams from the Holy Spirit.”
Dr. Eckhart attributes his success to having an excellent education, with two master’s degrees and a doctorate. After working for the local government for more than 30 years, he changed the trajectory of his career when someone whom he took a Biblical Greek course with at the local church told him that he should go to Ashland Theological Seminary. In the coming years, he plans to write additional articles and teach, using his book as a resource, as well as continue his humanitarian activities that involve monetary donations to charitable organizations and helping needy persons directly.
Dr. Eckhart and his wife recently sold their old home to a Ukrainian church, which is currently sponsoring a family with 9 children from the Ukraine. As a testament to their generosity and compassion, they sold the house for the same price which they bought it for in 1991. The aforementioned church also held a fundraiser to raise the money for the purchase of the home, and will be responsible for the upkeep of the property moving forward.
