Since 1996, Mr. Wasmund has prospered as founder and president of Inspectron, Inc. a building-inspection company centered in Rosemount that provides quality building code compliance services to municipalities, designing specific levels of service based on customer needs, performing and administering all aspects of building code compliance, rental housing programs, and zoning code administration or contract for specific projects or peak activity periods.
In addition, the firm can also supply short-term or long-term staffing for jurisdictions that need help due to a leave of absence, staff turnover, illness, or vacation. Inspectron also administers the state building code and state fire codes for a safe environment in the built community, looking at everything from a window replacement in a single-family home to larger clients such as casinos. Its biggest client at present is the Prairie Island Native American Community.
Mr. Wasmund attributes his success to the approach he takes to his work. People would always tell him that they love the way he works because of his approach, and maintains that he has achieved the career that he has by taking advantage of the opportunities that were presented. He became involved in his profession because he has a background in construction and civil engineering, as well as an interest in safety, and this allows him to help ensure that the places where people reside and work are environmentally safe for them.
According to Mr. Wasmund, his career highlight is being able to assemble a team with qualified members that are of like-mind, attitude, and approach to providing a safe and healthy environment to their clients. In the coming years, he is hoping for a well-deserved retirement when he will be able to indulge in his passion for fishing.
